Verified Leader Pact
Referenced from clause 1.1(g) of the Program Agreement. Applies to residency tiers only. Version 1.1.
1. What this is
If you graduate from the intensive, hold up your side under clause 4, and are not yet running a residency six months on, we keep working with you at no further charge: your Academy membership continues, your certified-leader support calls continue, we keep sending you landowner and host introductions, and we keep matching you with other certified leaders for partnership. Clause 5 sets out each of these in full.
We do this because we believe that if you keep doing the reps — signalling publicly, showing up, and acting on the leads we send you — it is unreasonable that you will not be running a residency or pop-up within six months. The Pact is our commitment to stay in it with you until you are.
It is a commitment to continued support. It is not a guarantee of any outcome. Nothing in this document promises you housing, a venue, participants, revenue or any other result.
2. The network
The introductions we make under this Pact draw on our landowner and host network. Arrangements in that network vary by owner, and currently include:
- properties whose owners host residencies at no rent to the leader — they want the community, not the rent check;
- reduced-rent arrangements;
- revenue shares; and
- work exchanges.
These are descriptions of arrangements that exist in the network today, not terms offered to you. Every arrangement is agreed between you and the owner directly, on whatever terms you and they reach. We are not a party to it, and we do not promise that any particular arrangement, including a no-rent arrangement, will be available to you.
3. Who this applies to
The Pact is included only with the four Certification tiers that include a stay at Maestro Valley. Attending an intensive does not by itself bring a tier within the Pact.
4. Your side of the Pact
4.1 Signal. Post publicly about what you are building multiple times a week, or get on calls with new people through the Retribalize app, as a consistent practice.
4.2 Show up. Attend the live Retribalize Academy calls as a regular practice.
4.3 Act on every lead. Respond substantively to every potential partner, landowner or host we send you within five working days, and pursue in good faith the ones that could plausibly work.
4.4 Graduate. Complete the in-person intensive, or the next available intensive if you defer with our agreement.
To invoke the Pact, notify us in writing within 60 days after the six-month date and show us that you have held up your side, such as your portfolio of posts. We will assess what you show us reasonably and respond within 15 business days. If we accept, we will follow through with support and access to our team. And if we decline, we will tell you why and let you respond before the decision is final.
5. Our side of the Pact
If, six months after you complete the intensive, you have held up your side under clause 4 and you are not running a residency as defined in clause 6, the following continue at no further charge:
(a) your Retribalize Academy membership; (b) certified-leader support calls, run by our certification team, held at least monthly; (c) landowner and host introductions, at least one suitable introduction per quarter, suitable meaning a real opportunity consistent with what you have told us you are looking for; and (d) matching with other Retribalize certified leaders for partnership on residencies.
These continue until the earlier of: you running a residency as defined in clause 6; the Pact ending under clause 7; or twelve months from the six-month date, whenever your claim is decided. We may extend beyond twelve months at our discretion.
6. What running a residency means
All of the following:
(a) you organized the residency or pop-up and are responsible for running it, under an agreement with the venue's owner or operator, or at a venue you control yourself, alone or together with others sharing that responsibility; (b) at least three people besides you are participating, as residents or committed registered participants; and (c) it runs, or is contracted to run, for at least seven consecutive days for a pop-up, or one season of three months for a standing residency.
7. How the Pact ends
Our obligations are fully discharged on the first date clause 6 is satisfied. Later changes at your residency, including participants leaving or the arrangement ending, do not revive them.
The Pact also ends if: you cancel under document 06; you are removed from the Program under clause 4 of the Program Agreement; your certification is revoked under document 07; you do not invoke the Pact within the 60-day window in clause 4, or we decline your claim under clause 4; we have sent you four suitable introductions and none has progressed to a discussion of specific terms with the host; or the twelve-month period in clause 5 ends. Ending of the Pact does not affect anything else you have purchased or any certification you hold.
8. General
This document is part of the Program Agreement set and is incorporated into your signed Agreement by version number. The signed version governs; any summary on our website or in marketing is a description of it, not a replacement for it. Clause 5.2 of document 07 applies to everything outside clause 5 of this document: introductions beyond the stated floor, promotion, featuring, and reach are at our discretion and are not promised.
Results disclaimer. The Pact commits us to continued support. It does not promise that you will run a residency, and we do not promise introductions beyond the floor stated above, promotion, enquiries, bookings, participants, revenue or profit. We have not yet certified a full cohort under this program and have no typical results to report. Most people who buy a business or skills program of any kind do not go on to build a profitable venture from it. Your results depend on factors outside our control.
